Mike Crooks works for the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District (“Regional San”) in the position of Deputy Director of Operations. In this role, his responsibilities include Manager of Regional San Engineering and Program Manager over the EchoWater and Harvest Water capital improvement programs. His employment with Regional San started in March 2012 when he was selected to backfill the previous Engineering Section Manger, Vick Kyotani, who left that role to start up and manage the EchoWater Project. In 2019, Mike was offered the opportunity to manage a new water recycling capital improvement program now known as Harvest Water. Shortly after, Vick Kyotani retired and Mike assumed EchoWater Program Manager duties in July of 2020 at which time he was promoted to the Deputy Director position.
Mike’s education and professional work experience includes graduation from CSU Sacramento in 1987 with a BS degree in Civil Engineering, 5-1/2 years with the State Department of Health Services Drinking Water program, and 19 years with Sacramento County Department of Water Resources Water Supply Section. His time with County Water Resources started with regulatory compliance and operations support; but the majority was spent as manager of the Water Supply Design group which was responsible for design and construction projects for large and small potable water systems owned and operated by the County of Sacramento.
